ORGANISATION AND BEHAVIOUR PART 2 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words
ORGANISATION AND BEHAVIOUR PART 2 - Essay Example 2. Condition existing outside the company- This factor mainly includes the environment & surrounding conditions that cause problem to the employees which includes housing problem, poor transport facilities, lack of recreational facilities, hazardous climatic conditions, & wrongly designed labor markets. 3. Personal problems of the employees- These issues are related to the personal life of the employees which includes sickness, accident, family issues, & ceremonies. If we analyze closely, we will find that the problems currently faced by the Bellingham Bakery started developing soon after the acquisition of Waterfields Company. Staff turnover increased at a greater rate especially in the Waterfields outlet. The management was seriously concerned when they found that some trainees left the company even before completion of their training period. After getting an idea on the probable causes of employee turnover & absenteeism, we can conclude that the employees at Bellingham Bakery were majorly affected by the acquisition step. The Waterfields outlets included mostly traditional machineries. These machineries were replaced & modern mass production equipments were introduced. Attention was specified on the extensive training & development of the staff on the procedures for using these machineries. Also most of the Waterfields managers left the firm after the acquisition & those positions were filled up by the Bellingham staff. These details help us to narrow down the possible causes for the rising problems of the organization. Firstly, the acquisition effected in a cultural & organizational change & therefore a difference between the 15 Waterfields outlets & the other Bellingham branches started taking shape. Secondly, the mass production system as a whole is a monotonous process which requires employees to perform same task repetitively. Thirdly, the new machines introduced proved to be a barrier to the efficiency of the staff who previously used to be the employe e of the Waterfields. Fourthly, training procedures might prove to be a failure if the need for training & the employeeââ¬â¢s capacity to learn it is not assessed carefully. Fifthly, only in-house training might prove to be inadequate for the employees to learn about the distribution process. Sixthly, lack of incentive or reward program for good performance & a performance appraisal structure is missing in the firm. Seventhly, the ââ¬ËFamily Feelââ¬â¢ which prevailed in the structure of Waterfields disappeared from the structure of Bellingham. Finally, longer training period might act as a tool for preventing the employees to achieve a higher designation in spite of having the required efficiency. As per the absenteeism & employee turnover causes discussed above, it follows that the conditions that exist within the company can be solved with various strategies implemented within the management structure. However the external conditions & personal factors are not within the organizationââ¬â¢s control. The best thing that can be done is to provide an efficient Employee Assistance Program to know about the grievances of the employees that are causing disturbance in their life hence compelling them to leave their job or take frequent leaves. Question 2 Most of the

Muhammadââ¬â¢s birth took place in Mecca. He claimed that an angel had visited him on return from one of his trips from Mount Hira, which is where he went to meditate in private. His wife Khadija also encouraged him to do Godââ¬â¢s will. Muhammad claimed he was a prophet, and that his task was to pass the message given to him by God. Muhammad urged people to do what Allah wanted them to do. Buddha, in the early days, clarified to the people that he was neither God nor a savior. Muslims believe that eternal life is only for those who do the will of Allah, while Buddhists believe that everlasting life is determined by the actions of an individual in their present life. Debut novel by Benjamin Franklin Essay Example for Free
Debut novel by Benjamin Franklin Essay Hawk, a debut novel by William Wallis (a poet) was published by `The Publisher` last 2006 with a 158 pages. Its genre is Fiction or Autobiographical. Hawk is the first novel written by the author that has won the 2006 Benjamin Franklin Award in Fiction that is given annually by Publisherââ¬â¢s Marketing Association (an organization composed of around 4,000 independent publishers. It appeared last August 14, 2006 issue of ââ¬Å"Publishers Weeklyâ⬠, in the Benjamin Franklin Award segment of PMA`s advertisement. He has a plan to publish three more stories that has a relation with his first novel. BODY The novel narrates about a story of family and survival while combining Southern traditional literary and contemporary expression. Maintaining the image of a poet and at the same time as a novelist, Wallis was able to recount a perception of life on earth by a seven-year-oldsââ¬â¢ eyeWill Falke, the leading character of his novel. Perplexing introductory events made the story more appealing to the readers. Chronicles of conventional childhood experiences of Will Falke is one of the focuses of the novel. His pains and disappointments on the stage of his growth through which is spent mostly in Monticello, Arkansas, during the early 1950`s molded him to become a Adika, pg 2 tough person. Having suffered and survived tough problems has not necessarily pushed Will to prefer to be in a place other than his hometown. The state where the central character lives is enclosed by a half-dozen other neighboring southern states, in which we can relate on how the characters in this story are interlinked. William Wallis, as a Southern writer keenly described one of the major preoccupancy of Southern America which is survival, both enduring and prevailing. Will Falke, born in the year of the fifties have experienced the both negative and positive side of his existence in this world. He lost his eye; he has endured the vicious pain of punishments from his cruel and brutal father; he has to stay sturdy in spite of the mocking and humiliations of his schoolmates, and a mother who is so weak to continuously strive to live in order to protect him and his family. These are the examples of him being cursed. On the contrary, there are also things aside from troubles that can still be a reason for Will to hold on and can be considered as a blessing. Significant characters like Alma, a nurse with a good heart that taught him to read; Ruth, Willââ¬â¢s frail mother where he got his passion for classical music and singing and he also learned the lyrics of classical music from a Jew pal; Tyree, his gentle neighbor that skilled him to play chess and gave him the gift of friendship; and even simple things like a family farm that taught him to learn the ways of nature just like how his indignant father trained him to be resilient; he is cared and very much loved by women, and lastly, he has eventually learned liberty and freedom like a ââ¬Å"Hawk. â⬠Adika, pg 3 On my point of view, this novel is so heartily written by the author that has the capacity to move the hearts of the reader through the varying well-hanging events and experiences as well as emotions that we could easily relate with. Every experience of Will, every struggle regarding his parents, sisters, and the other people that were dear to him has rendered complex scenario of bravery and the true value of a family. He has not only portrayed the classic or typical outlook of love of a family member but exhibited with honesty and mixture of artistry the true meaning of selfless and ââ¬ËChrist-likeââ¬â¢ loveââ¬âfull of bravery and hope.

The Genuine Nick Carraway of F. Scott Fitzgeraldââ¬â¢s The Great Gatsby :: Great Gatsby Essays
The Genuine Nick of The Great Gatsby Nick Carraway is a very genuine character throughout the novel. He gets involved with situations such as Daisy and Gatsby, he helps them rekindle their love and he also becomes a true friend with Jay Gatsby. Throughout the novel Nick Carraway starts off not having to many friends, until he starts getting involved other people. It all starts when Jay Gatsby, Nick's neighbour, invites Nick to his party. Nick decides that it would be a great idea so he attends. While attending the party Nick gets acquainted with many of the guests. Then Gatsby sends for him to come and meet him. At first Nick has no idea where he is headed, then he see's Gatsby and they talk for a few minutes. By meeting Gatsby Nick has changed for the better. His idea's and actions all start to change. He becomes very genuine. Sometime after the party, Nick says "I believe that on the first night I went to Gatsby's house I was one of the few guests who had actually been invited." (Gatsby, p.41) He said this because most of the people at Gatsby's parties just invited themselves. This is the time when Nick's character is showing some development of genuineness. Another time that Nick shows his development into a more genuine person is when he helps rekindle the love between Jay Gatsby and Daisy. He does this by setting up a surprise meeting at his house. Gatsby knew of this because he had asked him to do it. At this time in the novel is when Nick says "I'm going to call Daisy tomorrow and invite her over here to tea." (Gatsby, p.82) This shows that Nick is genuine because he is trying to rekindle the love between Gatsby and Daisy. After this period in the novel Gatsby and Nick became even closer friends. Getting closer to the end of the novel is when the reader see's the true friendship between Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway. Whenever Gatsby would ask Nick to do something Nick would always have or make the time to do it. The strongest example of the genuineness of Nick is when Jay Gatsby was murdered by Mr.

Behavior change health
I have been working on achieving my ideal weight this semester by losing 5 lbs in 5 weeks. I have modified my behavior and I am now able to keep from doing unhealthy activities such as eating fatty food. My goals did not change and I was able to achieve them. 2. I have completed my goals and am now prepared to move to creating new SMART goals.3. Yes, I was able to reach my goal of losing 5 lbs within 4 weeks. The short terms goals that I set for myself made the entire task more manageable. I used the short term goals in a checklist fashion which made accomplishing the overall goal more convenient to do.4. I relied on my friends for assistance and chose not to seek formal groups and organizations to participate in. My friends were very encouraging and they were there for me throughout the project. 5. As I promised my self, I have bought two outfits since the start of the project, one for every two pounds that I lost.I contemplated on buying another for the last pound but thought again st it because it would lower my standards. 6. I cannot really say that there were any major obstacles. The project went along smoothly and I was highly motivated by both my support and reward systems to accomplish my tasks.I do not think that there is anything to be done differently. 7. I believe that I have already achieved my goal for this project and would opt to have new goals. These goals are to maintain my current body weight, improve my health, and build my body. 8.To achieve my new goals, I have set up SMART goals that include working out in the gym five times a week, compiling healthy recipes which I will cook exclusively to be able to avoid unhealthy food, and abstaining from eating any fatty food during functions, meetings, and parties. I will monitor these goals in a two-month period and provide a summary evaluation at the end of the period.

Climate Change Proposal Essay
I am writing to you because of our environment and how important it is to conserve for our environment especially because it will help to provide a brighter future that is not for just us as human beings but to all living life forms on this planet, it is past time for all of us individuals to start changing our ways of life, to start such things as burning less coal and oil in order to help reduce and hopefully eventually help to eliminate the human carbon footprint on our planet. Human carbon footprints are caused by the releases of carbon dioxide and another gas called methane gas into the earthââ¬â¢s atmosphere and it causes the earth to warm much faster than it has in past years. These faster rising temperatures of the earth have caused some very severe effects on the climate change and now the climate change is being observed around the world by not just scientist but by all of us. All of the sea levels are rising at a fast pace because of how fast the ice glaciers are meltin g, the arctic sea ice is melting, permafrost and expansion of warmer seawater, that is also causing serious threats for all sea creatures and which also includes the death of the worldââ¬â¢s coral reefs. The warmer climate change can also be held responsible for the extreme droughts that have been happening that causes a higher evaporation rate which then leads to a heavier rainfall in some areas of the world and causes flooding in others as well as it effecting the worldââ¬â¢s crops because it causes withering and decline in our food production which then means a food shortage for many if not all communities. What I have noticed from former elections is that the problem with the climate change has fallen through the cracks and this is something that us the really care about. This all happened because of the lack thereof data available and the different opinions that scientists have had in the past, but now it has become very clear to people that it is very important to change our Carbone footprint on the planet. This is why I am writing you and encouraging you to address this problem in your speech, to make the people aware of the risks greenhouse gases pose to public health and the welfare of our planet. This is very important for all of these different reasons to help reduce the effects that the climate changes have been doing to our planet. By helping to reduce ourà carbon print on the planet we will be able to help secure a sustainable life for future generations to come and this will also help to protect all wild life natural habitats. By make these changes in our lives and how we do things everyday as well as cutting back in consuming all of our natural resources we can make a very big difference and help to eliminate the climate change. Doing these types of things we will be helping not to over-strip the supplies we have, we will help to reduce our carbon footprint. How we would do this would be to use cleaner energy sources like wind, solar power, reforestation or starting to plant trees around our home to help to reduce the temperature inside all of our homes. By reducing our consumption of such things as beef, we can reduce the amount of methane gases emitted by the atmosphere every year. By eating more organic food we will also be helping reduce the amount of toxic chemical fertilizers that are used in farming and is contaminating out natural water resources. It is very apparent that warming is a danger that we need to avoid not matter what it takes to do no matter how much it will cost us financially as well as how what we have to do as individuals to preserve and not just enjoy but respect our environment, and all the living things that share this planet with us. All of these things are very important to us the people and these are very conceivable options and things people can do to help stop the global warming and help our planet. I hope you take my letter and what I had to say into consideration and address it. References: WILEY PLUS: Murck, B. W., Skinner, B. J., & Mackenzie, D. (2010). Visualizing geology (2nd ed.).
